Study Programme Goals:

Since software errors can have severe consequences, software must be tested before being used. Therefore basic software testing knowledge is important for computer scientists.

Course Goals:

Learning fundamental concepts, terms and techniques concerning software testing and software quality assurance

Key Qualifications:

Testing and quality assurance of software (components and systems), test process, also as part of the software development process, test techniques, test types, test roles and test tools

Course Contents:

The course presents the contents of the ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level, a scheme for the education and training of software testers that has been established worldwide for many years.

It covers the following subjects:
  • Reasons for software testing
  • Fundamentals
  • Fundamental test process
  • Test levels and test types
  • Static quality assurance
  • Testability of requirements
  • Test techniques (black-box, white-box, experience-based)
  • Test planning and scheduling
  • Profitability of testing
  • Roles in testing
  • Test tool categories.
